Marriage is something very personal for people but advice is sought by many and rendered by even more. So why not have something from my side as well? Well I have some advice for you on the subject which may help you in finding your partner.

Priorities

What you set as your priority in your life, makes you choose your partner. Your priorities define your personality and lifestyle. Whatever your priorities are in life, remember one thing, when you set out to get married, your family also becomes your priority. This one priority is very important that would ,definitely,  take over the other less important priorities. Your own self is actually the most important priority. Your family and career come next. You should choose and discuss with your partner before making any decision. Communication with your partner is a must to have in marriage.

Belief Systems

For some people beliefs don’t matter in making a decision for marriage. For some, it may be very important or most important. Whatever importance you give to your belief system in making your life decision, you should discuss it with your partner before hand. You should discuss this aspect in detail. Do include religious beliefs, social beliefs, concepts of making a family, societal constructs and whatever you truly believe in. You’ll surely thank me later!

Finances

When you set out to make a marriage decision, do discuss how you and your partner would manage finances. It’s one important aspect to discuss before getting married. Ask your partner about the savings both you would make , how much would you spend on your households, your holidays, outings. Discuss investments and how you both want to design your future. It will be very beneficial for both of you in your coming days.

Children

Another important thing to discuss with your partner is about your future children. Yes! the numbers too. The most important thing is to discuss how both of you will save for your children’s future, their education, health and brought up. Who will look after them, if both of you would be working. You’ll surely get a lot of new understandings in the process.

Your Future

You should discuss with your partner about your future. It should be about your future, your partners and your family’s. How you both want to grow and if any partner needs some special support from the other to achieve something in the future. Many people get disappointed by their spouses after not getting the support they need to get to where they desire in life. This may often lead to divorces. So, discuss this with your future spouse before getting married.

Getting married is an important decision. You should give every effort to learn about yourself and your partner before making any decision. To err is human. But , you may not regret your decision if you would make it with deliberate effort. If you win, you grow , if you lose you learn.
